After our Procedure
The pigment will appear very sharp and dark during first look after the procedure. Don’t worry, it is only the pigment that is sitting on top of the skin as it has not settled in completely. The colour of the pigment will soften gradually. Don’t be alarmed if you see some pigment on the cotton swab as this is excess pigment or bodily fluid that is naturally exiting your skin.
During the healing process of your skin, you might discover dandruff flakes or dry skin. This might give you the impression that the colour pigment is fading. However, it is just superficial colour and dry skin naturally shedding from your eyebrows
After care and Retouches
The eyebrow and surrounding area MUST be kept dry for 5-7 days. This includes no swimming, saunas, steam, sweat or any facial products on or around the area.
Please do not use any oils or moisturisers across the forehead or eyelids. When showering please take extra care to ensure they are kept as dry as possible as this will help the pigment settle into the skin for longer lasting results.
Remove eye makeup in a downward direction on cotton pads. Do not scrub or wash the eyebrows.
After care and Retouches
You may have some redness or bruising. After treatment, your eyeliner will be darker the first few days, but it will gradually lighten. Also you may need a touch-up session to correct the colour if your eyeliner is too light. Your therapist will advise you on when to have it done, as it varies from one person to another. Bruising is common as is redness.
Bepanthen cream is recommended by Mimsy Beauty. It is a skin healing cream that can be purhcased at any pharmacy/chemist.
Apply the Bepanthen cream you have been given 3 times a day for 3 days. Apply the cream using a clean tissue or cotton bud for each application. Also apply a cold compress if you prefer – but first apply Bepanthen cream to your eyelids, then Glad Wrap, then the cold compress on top.
Use eye drops if you need them and your eyes may feel a little “gritty” like you have sand in them. This is normal.
Do not drive or operate heavy machinery immediately after your treatment. Don’t rub, pick or scratch your eyes. Don’t use mascara or eye shadows or tint your lashes for the next three(3) days.
Immediately after the treatment lips will be slightly swollen and tender and colour will appear much brighter than the one chosen during the consultation.
Apply Bepanthem cream constantly to keep the lips moist. The cream will help with soreness as well as holding the colour in. If you do not apply enough cream the lips begin to tighten and pigmentation will come out.
You must also ensure that you do not scratch your lips with your fingers and NO hot drinks or spicy foods for the first day, no lipstick, kissing or direct water for the first few days – drink water through a straw!
The lips will exfoliate quickly after 3-4 days. Full lip treatments take slightly longer to heal, usually a week after procedure the swelling and flaking will end.
